A Surprise Picnic at Pioneers Park!

We had a fun and relaxing 4th of July weekend, which is just what our family needed after being gone so many weekends this summer. However, before I post pictures from the 4th of July, I wanted to do a quick post on a surprise picnic dinner that we had last Thursday night. Since the boys were "home alone" that day, they were busy putting together a surprise dinner for me, which was so sweet. I came home from work and found this note taped on the garage door:

When I arrived at Pioneers Park, they were all waiting for me. The kids were so excited! Chef Daddy packed hamburgers, corn-on-the-cob, chips and watermelon. He didn't forget a thing and he even remembered the bug spray! While dinner was cooking, the kids enjoyed playing at the park. Unfortunately, we dined and dashed because the flies were eating us alive. We stopped by the C&L Dairy Sweet for ice cream on the way home! It was the perfect way to kick off the long holiday weekend! Thanks again, Cory and Carson, for the fun surprise picnic dinner!

Playing at the park!

Chef Daddy grillin' up some burgers for dinner!

We love corn-on-the-cob!

I walked around and ate my dinner.
I refuse to share my food with filthy flies!

It would be a complete party foul to drive by the Dairy Sweet
on the way home and not stop for a slush and ice cream cone!
